Bharatvanshi Samaj Bhushan Puraskar (PIO Community Service Award)

As a tribute to the memory of Lakshmanrao Bhide and to commemorate his pioneering efforts in establishing contacts and organizing the PIOs, VAK has instituted Bharatvanshi Samaj Bhushan Puraskar, from 2008 to honour silent and selfless community workers among global PIO community; whose efforts have nurtured the community in many ways and helped them maintain their identity and cultural roots. The award is given once in two years.
